- Call Dorchester PPP for authoritative routing. Ask whether the person is supervised through that office and how an authorized person may communicate with the assigned agent.

Do not assume that the agent assigned when a case began still has it. Office staff can route a current matter, while the court clerk is the source for an official filed sentence or order.
The office address is not the jail. L.C. Knight is at 220 Hodge Road in Summerville and handles detention custody questions at 843-832-0215. PPP is the supervision agency. These are jurisdictional caseload counts, not people released that day, and they are not the total number of Dorchester County jail releases. They do show why guessing “parole” for every released adult is inaccurate. Probation made up the large majority of the displayed workload, and probation can exist without a state-prison discharge.
Dorchester County Parole Hearings and Results

Schedules are generally finalized and posted about 30 days before a hearing, so a later check may be needed.

Read the exact outcome label. Results may include grant, rejection, conditional grant subject to later rescission, under advisement, postponement, or rescission. After rejection, the official criteria generally call for a two-year rehearing interval for a violent-offense case, with possible statutory exceptions, and one year for a nonviolent-offense case. A rehearing date is not a release date.
Parole eligibility is also not release. Section 24-21-610 supplies broad eligibility baselines, while no-parole rules and offense-specific limits can control. The Board retains discretion, and even a grant can carry conditions or await release processing. Confirm the gate event through SCDC's released search and confirm any resulting supervision with PPP.
Dorchester County Violations and Absconder Checks
Supervision conditions depend on the actual order and program. They may govern reporting, approved movement, treatment, payments, or conduct, but a public summary cannot establish whether a particular person violated a condition. The assigned agency, court, and filed revocation record are the proper sources.
An absconder label is more serious than a missed informal appointment. It is an agency status concerning an alleged failure to remain under supervision and can lead to warrant or revocation proceedings.
